Menetou-Salon is a town located in the north-east of Bourges, in the department of Cher.
Populated by just over 1,600 inhabitants, Menetou-Salon is renowned for its vineyard (AOC) and its castle.
The municipality covers approximately 38 km² of forests, agricultural land, meadows, vineyards, orchards and urban fabric.
You will find many shops and local services, doctors and nurses, pharmacy, post office, bank annex, bars and restaurants, bakery, delicatessen, butcher, grocery store, hairdressers, beauty treatments, tobacco shop / newspapers, insurance, notarial office, garden center, recycling center ... and many craftsmen.
For children, we have a nursery and primary school, and the nearest middle school is less than 10 kilometers away. A school restaurant and an after-school reception are also available.
An independent residence for the elderly and disabled with more than 80 rooms and a few temporary reception rooms is located in the town.

Menetou-Salon is renowned for its associative dynamism. 25 associations animate the town throughout the year in multiple areas: cultural, social, sports, leisure, wine.

The leisure center is managed by the community of municipalities of Terres du Haut Berry.
Its centers welcome children from 3 years old, all year round:
- Wednesdays during school period, in the municipalities of Allouis, Henrichemont, St Martin d'Auxigny and Ste Solange
- short holidays (excluding end-of-year holidays)
- summer holidays, in the towns of Fussy, Henrichemont, Les Aix d'Angillon, St Martin d'Auxigny, Vasselay and Menetou-Salon (from July 8 to 30, 2021)

• For nursery and primary schools, school transport is provided only for school outings:
  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m.
  They are insured by the municipality
  The various stopping points in the town can be consulted at the town hall.

• For the Collège d'Henrichemont, school transport is in place for the outward and return journey.
  The various stopping points in the town can be consulted at the town hall or on the Car Rémi network site
  The intercommunal school bus union, based in Achères, is in charge of this, under the supervision of the regional council which delegates the competence to it.
  Prices: 50 € per year per child

• For middle and high schools in Bourges, school transport is provided by the interurban transport of the General Council: réseau de Car Rémi
  Pick up is in front of the town hall, at the bus shelter.

Its mission: to preserve the autonomy of people of the 3rd and 4th ages.

The Louis JOUANNIN autonomous residence welcomes autonomous and semi-autonomous seniors.
Its purpose is to preserve the autonomy of people of the 3rd and 4th ages. It is a non-profit association under the 1901 law, managed by a Board of Directors. A Social Life Council participates in the active life of the residence: it is made up of residents and their families.
